On November 28, 2023, ZHAO Chao, Vice President of the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University and Vice President of Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research, LIU Weidong, Secretary of the Party Branch and Assistant to the President of Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research, WANG Mingshou, Consultant of Qingdao Biotemed Biomaterials Co., Ltd., ZHOU Zhaolin, Chairman of Haier Group's Aging-Friendly Industry, and other representatives of the Tsinghua SEM EMBA Alumni Association of Shandong visited the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao Binhai University, where they had an in-depth exchange with HAN Fangxi, President of Qingdao Binhai University and Director of the Affiliated Hospital, and other leaders of the hospital on promoting the innovative development of the healthcare industry. After the meeting, representatives of the Tsinghua SEM EMBA Alumni Association of Shandong visited Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research ("TASA") and held a meeting there.

In the morning, representatives of the Tsinghua SEM EMBA Alumni Association of Shandong visited the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao Binhai University, the Hotel Management Comprehensive Training Center of Qingdao Binhai University, and the Nursing Center of the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao Binhai University. President HAN Fangxi introduced the functional layout, humanized design concepts, and future planning in detail.

At the exchange meeting, Vice President ZHAO Chao spoke highly of the construction achievements of the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao Binhai University and put forward development suggestions based on the integrated innovation of the whole industrial chain, including product innovation, environmental innovation, service innovation, and business model innovation, in the healthcare industry. He expressed his hope that TASA would carry out in-depth cooperation with the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao Binhai University, through which they could create international benchmark demonstration projects in the field of age-friendly and healthcare industries, jointly promote the formulation of relevant industry standards, and serve the development of local industries and social economy by making full use of Tsinghua University's disciplinary advantages, integrating talent and R&D resources in the field of age-friendly and healthcare at home and abroad, deepening the cross-integration of disciplines, and constantly breaking through the barriers between different disciplines.

Mr. HAN Fangxi said that the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao Binhai University has adhered to the hospital's mission of "eradicating diseases and benefiting all living beings". Established in the West Coast New Area, it has served the surrounding military and civilians and integrated into the regional development pattern under the guiding philosophy of "putting patients at the center and putting patients' interests first". He looked forward to in-depth exchanges and cooperation with TASA in various industrial fields in the future to provide high-quality healthcare services in Qingdao West Coast New Area.

In the afternoon, representatives of the Tsinghua SEM EMBA Alumni Association of Shandong visited TASA and attended a symposium. The delegation visited the Design Laboratory of the International Industrial Research Department and the Art and Science Experience Center, and viewed the "Sowing and Sprouting, Ripening and Harvesting - Special Exhibition for the Anniversary of the Founding of the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University" and "Where Art Meets Science · A Better Future is Created" International Art & Science Collaborative Innovation Works Exhibition, and the Exhibition on Health, Well-being and Senior-friendly Design held by TASA. Mr. LIU Weidong introduced the construction plan of TASA and the layout of international cooperation in the field of art and science innovation to the visitors.

At the symposium, Mr. LIU Weidong said that since its establishment in Qingdao, TASA has been committed to integrating with local development strategies and ensuring the transformation and upgrading of key industries. TASA has been building the future innovative industrial sector of health and welfare, attaches great importance to the development of the healthcare industry, and is preparing to establish R&D institutions with relevant leading enterprises to produce innovative results aimed at solving the real needs of society. He expressed his hope that they would cooperate extensively with the alumni to jointly create industrial innovation models and deeply empower the development of the design industrial chain and talent chain in the field of age-friendly and healthcare.
